What makes the job interesting is the different entry points you find when performing squirrel removal jobs. Every home is slightly different than another, and it has its own story to tell. Last year this Newmarket home had raccoon problems and this year they decided to come back but failed to break in. Fortunately for squirrels, all they had to do was find this new hole and use it to enter the attic.
Squirrel in the attic
The homeowner spotted the squirrels when he decided to enter the attic hatch to check out what was causing all the noise. Our technicians arrived and began inspecting the attic and confirmed the presence of a squirrel in the attic within the soffits. The inspection showed us the entry point of the squirrel and we started working on it right away. On site the technician began installing a one-way door system to humanely remove the squirrel from the attic.
Squirrel baby removal and season
Before taking any action on your own, you should at least be familiar with wildlife baby seasons. Squirrels are now having babies in their nests and require to nurture them regularly. Keep in mind that squirrel babies are fragile and unable to move on their own and feed. A mother squirrel will need to feed her young several times a day by leaving and re-entering the attic. If you notice a hole on your roof or hear animals running in the attic, call the appropriate professionals. You should never evict adult squirrels before physically removing baby squirrels. Once that’s done, the babies should be reunited to a very close proximity of the entry point with the adult squirrels.
If you fail to unite the parent squirrels and the baby squirrels they will die. Weather conditions will affect babies, babies need to be kept warm until the parent squirrels can relocate them. Access must be provided to the parent squirrels to safely get the babies out.
If you are not sure, always ask a professional. Avoid and do not close any holes without doing the procedure correctly. Failing to do perform proper squirrel removal in baby season can lead to expenses, stench and dead bodies in the attic.
